Charity group opens dayroom
MEMBERS of a Bristol charity will be opening a new dayroom at the city's cancer hospital today.
The Nicola Corry Support Foundation was originally set up after the young mum was diagnosed with a rare cancer after giving birth to her son.
But after she lost her battle with the disease, the charity's name was changed in her memory in order to help others in a similar situation.
Having been through Nicola's experience with cancer her family and friends were aware of the need for a relaxing and comfortable environment in the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre.
The walls in the room have been painted and new lights and flooring installed. A new sofa, dining area and play area for visiting children have been put in along with kitchen appliances.
Anyone who wants to find out more about the charity and the work it has already carried out can go along to the opening of the dayroom at the hospital in Horfield Road at 2pm today.
